How to heat a house without gas?

Alternative heating sources or how to heat a house without gas? Due to the constant growth of tariffs, consumers often ask themselves similar questions in order to make heating less expensive and still be comfortable. Gas is becoming "worth its weight in gold" every year. Consumers with private or country houses are particularly interested in an alternative to gas heating.

Types of alternative types of heating

Consider the options for heating a house without gas:

  • Solid fuel equipment
  • Solar energy
  • Heat pump
  • Electric heating

Solid fuel equipment

Heating in a private house? Solid fuel boilers have become increasingly popular. This is one of the most profitable ways to heat homes or offices today.

They are characterized by a high level of efficiency (about 90% and more). There are many options for long-burning boilers, which will greatly facilitate maintenance. The main condition is the quality of the fuel, with low humidity and high caloric content. The most popular and affordable type of fuel is firewood.

Perhaps the most multifunctional equipment that is replacing the gas boiler today is the solid fuel boiler. It seems to be a rather expensive purchase, but its cost-effective operation quickly pays for itself.
The only disadvantage is the space required for installation and storage of fuel.

Solar energy

The advantages of solar panels are that we get the accumulated energy for free and it is absolutely environmentally friendly heating. The panels are also easy to install and have no negative impact on humans and nature. But the disadvantages are the low level of efficiency and the cost of such equipment. Therefore, this option is not very popular among the population.

Heat pump

Heat pumps are characterized by a high degree of environmental friendliness and efficiency. This equipment uses heat from the elements of nature - water, earth and air. A heat pump can heat a house of any size. Natural heat is converted into clean energy, which is the source of heating. It is a great option as an alternative to gas. Is it cheap? This is probably one of the good reasons why this method is not very common in Ukraine today. It is an expensive heating option, although it is considered a reliable autonomous solution with a high level of efficiency. But if you still do not exclude the use of a heat pump as an alternative to gas, you should think about installing it before building a house.

Electric heating

Electric heating options:

  • Electric boiler. It is a fairly inexpensive equipment that does not require much space and does not need to store fuel. But in order to heat a large room, you need to connect to powerful lines. This requires a special permit. And the downside is that the cost per 1 kW is quite high.
  • Electric fireplace. It is a compact-sized equipment that can be installed in both apartments and private houses. It is capable of heating the room and working as a source of hot heat supply (fireplace with a water circuit).But it does not provide for an automatic supply of firewood, and this indicates an unstable maintenance of heat in the room.
  • An air fireplace requires the installation of a chimney and air ducts in each room, and the frequency of loading firewood every 2-3 hours. It does not work for water heating.
  • The pellet fireplace solves the issue of auto-fuel supply due to the presence of a bunker. The efficiency is around 80%. It requires electricity and pellets to operate. Requires professional installation and takes up enough space. The high cost affects low demand.
  • Air conditioners. If equipped with a heat pump function, air conditioners can be used to heat the room. However, this method of heating is often used in the off-season, as the use of air conditioning consumes a large amount of electricity. Heating without gas is considered unprofitable for air conditioners.
  • Ceramic infrared panels. They belong to a new type of heating. It is a reliable device in terms of fire safety. It does not require maintenance for many years. Easy to install in any room. They do not dry the air, do not burn oxygen, and do not contribute to dust circulation. Environmentally friendly equipment that works silently. Economical in electricity consumption (up to 30%). A good option for kindergartens and schools.
  • Electric underfloor heating. Uniform heat distribution that does not raise dust. When using a thermostat, it is possible to set the temperature. But most often it is an additional source of heat rather than the main one.

Solid fuel boilers Altep - the main alternative to gas heating of a private house

After considering the ways to heat a house without gas, the most cost-effective alternative, in our opinion, is to install solid fuel equipment.

But which boiler should you choose today to make the winter warm?

Let's look at the advantages of solid-state in general:

  1. High level of efficiency;
  2. Fast payback;
  3. Reliability;
  4. Long service life;
  5. Unpretentious to fuel.

But there are many manufacturers on the market today. Let us mention one of the most reliable, time-tested ones.

It is an official Ukrainian manufacturer that has been on the market for 15 years. The company's production area is about 10,000 square meters. Altep has proven itself to be of good quality and has a service support. This is an important argument in favor of this manufacturer. The boilers are brewed on automated, modern equipment that eliminates manual work as much as possible.

The products are certified and made of heat-resistant steel. They have a 5-year warranty.

More than 40,000 satisfied customers, including large and small businesses and individuals. This is also a testament to the quality of the brand.

How and what to heat a house without gas in winter is, of course, up to you.

And we will simply supplement the above information with a brief comparison of the price of heating a private house with gas, firewood and other alternative heat sources.
